Let’s be Honest

I have not read a quote that sums me up quite like this one. Seriously, if you’re after an insight into who I am, here it is.

I’d love for you to find a quote that perfectly sums you up and post it, either on here or a Facebook comment or reply to a tweet. Because maybe we’d all learn something about each other. Maybe we’d all learn that we’re not the people we thought we were. After all, maybe you just though I was quiet. Maybe you didn’t know I had all this stuff inside me that I just couldn’t find a way to express.

Maybe this blog is a way of me expressing that. But wouldn’t it be awesome – like ridiculously amazing – if you found a way to help me express that in person? If I helped you to be more thoughtful or you helped someone else to be more confident? What if we could pass on those good things we each have to one other person? Surely the world would be a better place?

What if the next time I laughed at something you said, I came out with an hilarious retort that took you by surprise. Would it startle you? It would probably startle me! But at least I’d be being myself.

Be honest with me. Come on, let’s shock each other and learn something we never knew. Have a think… and let me know!

Thanks for reading! I’d love it if you commented, shared, liked, retweeted or whatever else you can do! I’m on Facebook.com/mumwriting or @mumwriting. Mostly though, I’d love it if you were honest with me and found a quote that sums you up perfectly… come on! Let’s be honest with each other for once.

  1. This quote doesn’t say too much about me but it is my all time favourite quote so I guess my love for it communicates something:

“We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”
