Learning Lessons and Seeing Santa

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/7f3/80695666/files/2014/12/img_2721.jpgSo just over a week and half ago I started this blog. I was on a writing high. But it was two weeks before Christmas and life was busy and there was so little time to fit writing in and excuses, excuses, excuses… I missed a scheduled post on Friday. And me being me thought it didn’t matter because I’d only just started and I must have about one reader anyway. But my stats show that’s blog has had consistent views every day. Yep, that’s right, I missed a captive audience.

Pants. Apologies, if you visited and there was nothing new. So I learnt not to assume the worst… and I learnt not to start a blog just before Christmas.

So after today this blog will resume in the New Year unless inspiration strikes over the holidays!

As my last post before Christmas I wanted to share an experience with you that I’ve never had before. We took N#1 to see Santa!!

We didn’t bother last year because he was so tiny anyway but this was a far more exciting experience. He still has no idea who the old guy is, other than his name is Santa. But he loved the lights and music in the grotto and was obviously realising our excitement and getting into the spirit.

When it it came to actually meeting Santa? Well, let’s just say there’s never been a more suspicious child! Although he wasn’t scared, he clearly didn’t understand why we were sitting him on this strange man’s lap after always telling him not to talk to strangers – very logical really!

But despite his suspicions, it was a lovely moment and I very nearly cried. A complete emotional mum-moment!

And I’m sure there are more to come over the next week! Happy holidays everyone, and have a cosy Christmas!

Thanks for reading! If you’ve made it this far, please leave a comment (or constructive criticism!) or share if you know of an appropriate place to share my blog. And come find me at @mumwriting Thanks guys!
